COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
The IASIO (Irish Association for Social Inclusion Opportunities), is a
national organisation that works with State agencies in the
development and delivery of services to marginalised groups, enabling
communities to become more socially inclusive through best practice
service provision. IASIO’s current operational scope includes three
national Services and two smaller projects: The Linkage Service, the
Gate Service, the Resettlement Service; and The Community Support
Scheme and The Supported Employment Service.
THE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER ROLE:
As IASIO embarks on the implementation of a new, ambitious, and
exciting Strategy, it is seeking to recruit a key management role to
lead its corporate communications, influencing and advocacy
initiatives and increasing its partnerships and support. We are
seeking a strategic, innovative, and collaborative leader as
Communications Manager who aligns to our values and is inspired by our

IASIO is seeking a Communications Manager to lead on all areas of
communication that tells the story of our work, impact and extends our
influence. The Communications Manager role is a new position offering
the opportunity to lead and drive on developing and implementing a
Communications Strategy and Advocacy Plan for the organisation. The
Communications Manager will be responsible for achieving our strategic
objectives to renew our corporate identity, revitalise who we are, why
we exist and extend our influence. The Communications Manager will
strengthen all corporate communications, raising the profile of
IASIO’s work, impact, broaden our partnerships and extend our
influence.
JOB SUMMARY:
* To increase the profile and reach of IASIO across key sectors,
raising awareness, knowledge and demonstrating impact. Raising
awareness and increase understanding of
* The context and factors that influence and impact a person, their
family, and their community when in conflict with the law.
* The collective impact of IASIO, its partners the Irish Prison
Service, Probation Service, and other stakeholders in terms of
rehabilitation, desistance, and transformation to a life free from
crime, and a safer more inclusive society.
* Through integrated communications and advocacy, extend IASIO’s
influence and leadership in key policy areas, that bring about better
outcomes for our clients.
* To support and grow partnerships across key stakeholders in order
to grow our services, mobilise support and resources of businesses,
business networks/bodies, community & voluntary sector agencies,
public sector etc.
* To work strategically and collaboratively with corporate
communications within the Irish Prison Service, Probation Service, and
other key partners.
* Part-time * hours per week, 3 days per week
with hybrid and flexible working.
* Initial fixed term contract renewable subject to successful
completion of a six-month probation period and continued funding.
* Salary is commensurate with experience and salary scale applies
thereafter.
* Travel required. Full clean driving licence and vehicle for travel
required.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
* At least 3- 5 years’ experience in a senior role within the
not-for-profit, charity and NGO sector, leading, developing, and
successfully implementing communications and/or public affairs, PR, or
marketing strategies, including experience of influencing/advocacy.
* A Bachelors’ degree or higher in communications, marketing,
public relations, or public affairs.
* Proven experience of working strategically and collaboratively
through excellent relationship management.
* Proven strategic writing skills, creativity, with the ability to
articulate and inspire the long-term vision and values of IASIO.
* Proven experience in digital media communications, video
production, documentaries, photoshoots etc.
* Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills
with the ability to prioritise a heavy workload and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills, presentation, and public speaking
skills.
* Detailed working knowledge of Irish media and working relationship
with media outlets.
* Experience in planning and managing end to end communications
campaigns.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and can build rapport and
productive relationships with stakeholders.
* A detailed understanding of the Irish media and political
landscape.
* Ability and willingness to travel nationally.
